What: Smyth County Schools PreK and Kindergarten registration

Who: Children turning four years old on or before September 30, 2023, for pre-kindergarten and 

         Children turning five years old on or before September 30, 2023, for kindergarten 

When: March 9, 2023, from 8:30 am—5:00 pm and 

            March 23, 2023, from 8:30 am-6:00 pm

Where: Your local elementary school: Atkins Elementary, Chilhowie Elementary, Marion Elementary, Oak Point Elementary, Rich Valley Elementary, Saltville Elementary, or Sugar GroveElementary

How: Kindergarten paperwork will be completed at the school when you come to register. Bring a copy of your child’s state-certified birth certificate (not the hospital announcement) with you to your local school to complete the registration process. 

Pre-K Registration paperwork will be completed at each school. Pre-K parents should bring verification of income (paystub) and a state-certified birth certificate. Immunization records and a current physical exam are required by August 1, 2023, for both Pre-K & Kindergarten registration.
