Solar Eclipse Viewing - Schools will dismiss 15 minutes later than usual

What
Solar Eclipse Viewing - Schools will dismiss 15 minutes later than usual
When
4/8/2024, 3:30 PM 4:30 PM

The peak of the solar eclipse will be around 3:12 on April 8.  Since this is at the same time as our dismissal, we will delay dismissal by 15 minutes.  This is a county directive by Dr. Carter.  Solar eclipse glasses have been ordered for all of our students and teachers.

Please discuss the importance of wearing solar eclipse glasses throughout the event and impress upon students the dangers of removing them while viewing the eclipse.

Grades Pre-K-2:  We plan to take only a few students out at a time to ensure they do not take their glasses off during the eclipse.  We will schedule help from interventionists.  Details TBD.

Grades 3-5:  These students will all go out at the same time.

Our SpEd classes will dismiss at their regular time.
